San Francisco Rush was one of my favorite Arcade Racers of all time. That being said, this port for the Nintendo 64 retains most of what made the original great.

There really is nothing like rushing around the streets of San Francisco at 150+ MPH. The only thing that beats it in fact is being launched over the tops of the hills, and soaring across the landscape. This flying factor is unmatched in Nintendo 64 Racing.

The biggest drawback of this game in comparison to other N64 Racers is the graphics. It seems as if they used all the processing power available to make the cars drive and fly like no others. Then, when it was time to make the backgrounds, there wasn’t any left over to make them look good. I think this game could have really benefited from enhanced graphics with the Nintendo 64 Expansion Pak.

I recommend this game for any racing fan.
